Robert Sol Levy

It was by accident that I learned that Bob had passed away in January.
I can’t think of a nicer, kinder, more honest , dependable , loyal & most reliable person,
friend & colleague. We first met approx 1958 when Bob worked at The John Plain Co.
as a buyer–He was the best!! We later worked together in the ’80’s and ’90’s–FUN & MEMORABLE TIMES !!

He will be missed

Bob and Lucille were dear long term friends of my parents, Shirlee and Sol Wachovsky. They met back on Hoyne in Chicago so long ago. Their apartments were across the street from one another. Two sweeter people could not be found! The two couples had many happy times together! My mother is still alive and was saddened to hear about Bob’s passing as was I. He will be missed.

My wife and I moved to Skokie almost ten years ago. Bob and Lucille Levy live across the alley from them, and I would often see Bob in the garage, taking out the garbage, or just getting back from somewhere with Lucille. We got to know them really well, and eventually we took our kids over to visit. They were always so excited to see us, especially on Halloween and around most holidays. Bob was a sweet and gentle man. My kids were deeply saddened to hear he had died. Even though he wasn’t as communicative towards the end, they were still grateful to see him and Lucille each time we went.

I will always remember Bob’s smile and kind words. He was so wonderful to be with because he made everyone feel special. I will miss him and remember him in my thoughts. I will speak of him to the little children so that they will feel happy to know that they come from a wonderful family.
